Break from your painful past | Witness how one victim of unspeakable trauma turns her suffering into joy

August 08, 2018

Why do we have a tendency to hold on to the past? Why do we continue to let the most painful experiences in our lives not only influence, but control our future? And what would life look like if we were able to let go of the past, shed the stories that we carry with us and move forward in a way that is untethered to the pain? Welcome to the Tony Robbins Podcast. In this episode of the real breakthrough series, we’re diving into a particularly sensitive subject - letting go of past trauma. Some of you may have endured unspeakable trauma in your lives. But as horrific as these experiences were, you may continue to hold on to them, fervently at times. Because letting go can be terrifying. But holding on has profound consequences of its own. We continue to give the pain power. We keep cords of energy tied to the people that hurt us. We even let these terrible experiences become part of our identity. In this episode, you’re going to hear from JoLynn - a woman who endured tremendous trauma in her past. And for years, decades even, she allowed that pain to dictate her life. She lived in a story of hurt, and she suffered massively because of it. But by working with Tony, she was able to step outside of that pain and gain a new level of understanding and perspective. And in a moment, she broke through to the other side - where she was able to let go, find forgiveness and choose a life of love and appreciation.

The #1 Secret to Productivity | Lessons from Pulitzer Prize winning journalist, Charles Duhigg

April 30, 2016

Why do habits exist? How can they be changed? And how can they transform our lives and our businesses? Our habit-making behavior stands at the core of how we live our lives and how we run our businesses. As many as 40-45% of our daily activities are habits, which means that if you don’t get your habits right, you won’t reach your goals. This is why it is so critical to understand the evolution of a habit – how it is formed and how it emerges – and how to use that to your advantage. This will not only help you achieve more in your personal life. It is how your business can figure out how to get customers to change their own habits and form new ones associated with your product or store. In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, you will hear from Charles Duhigg – pulitzer-prize winning reporter for The New York Times, and author of the NYT best-selling book The Power of Habit and the recently released, Smarter Better Faster – as he discusses how harnessing the power of habits can transform our businesses, our communities and our lives.   This podcast is brought to you by Business Mastery. Amplify Your Strengths | Todd Herman on alter egos, secret identities and how to get out of your own way

February 24, 2017

There are critical moments in all of our lives that could potentially be great opportunities for growth and expansion -- any high stakes situation such as an interview, a pitch, an important meeting. However, so many of us aren’t prepared to take advantage of those opportunities because we lack the tools and skills necessary to execute when we need it most. And ultimately, we miss out on what could be life-changing moments, and we end up not living up to our potential. In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, we sit down with performance coach and advisor, Todd Herman. Todd is the Founder of The Peak Athlete, a mental toughness training & sports science research company, advising Pro & Olympic athletes for over 18 years. He’s also creator of 'The 90 Day Year' Program, a goal achievement system used by athletes, entrepreneurs and companies like, Shell, Goldman Sachs, Cisco Systems and Government agencies around the world. The Boston Herald has called him "A Sports Training Superstar" and he’s also the author of the forthcoming book - The Alter Ego Effect: How The World’s Top Performers Use Secret Identities To Win In Sport, Business & Life. Todd discusses just why we have a hard time adapting to high-pressure situations, and delves into the power of alter egos - or what he refers to as “secret identities” - and how they allow us to magnify certain parts of our personality when we need it most. Because we have the capacity to create who we want to be, in any situation, and we have the potential to reach any of our goals - as long as we learn how to get out of our own way.

Are You a Wantrapreneur? | Noah Kagan explains the 3 ways you can become a real entrepreneur

May 20, 2016

For so many aspiring entrepreneurs, the road stops at an idea. Sure, they may build a website, design a logo, maybe even create a comprehensive business plan. But until they make that first sale, they’re still just a wantrapreneur – that is, someone who spends their time and money on everything else except creating a real business. Real entrepreneurs, on the other hand, care about one thing: building a product or service that people want and making that sale. In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, appSumo CEO and serial entrepreneur Noah Kagan shares his personal tips for building a business, and talks about what it really takes to be a successful entrepreneur. Because the road to startup success is anything but clear, leaving plenty of room for creative ingenuity. But if you don’t have the right tools and mindset, then the only guarantee you have is that your road will stop short   If you’re listening to this podcast it means you’re hungry. Hungry for change, hungry for growth, and ready to have a major breakthrough in your business. As a partner or founder in more than a dozen businesses that do more than $5 billion in revenue each year, Tony Robbins has learned from the best in the world — the Steve Wynn’s, Marc Benioff's, and Peter Guber’s — what it takes to be successful.   Whether you’ve been in business for decades or are just getting started, it’s important to get help from someone who’s been there, someone who is going to coach you through it. That’s why Tony is offering a free, one-on-one business strategy session from one of his top business strategists — a $600 value! Completely free, no strings attached. Democratizing luxury | How Rent the Runway changed the way we shop and grew to a $1B company – an interview with co founder Jenny Fleiss

September 17, 2019 • 27m

Jenny Fleiss created Rent the Runway, a company now valued at $1 billion, in the wake of the most severe economic recession the United States has seen since the Great Depression. When everyone else was panicking in 2008 and 2009, Jenny and co founder Jennifer Hyman saw an opportunity. The problem they were trying to solve was simple enough: Looking into your closet and realizing you don’t have anything to wear to an important event, like a wedding, but don’t have the budget to buy something new. So they innovated, and created an entirely NEW way to shop by allowing women to rent designer clothing, online, for a fraction of what it actually costs.  Today, the rental, or sharing economy is booming – companies like WeWork, REI, and Zipcar make it possible for us to experience something, without the cost of ownership. But to put this in perspective, nothing like this existed at the time.  Jenny shares how she and her co founder got Rent the Runway up and running – and how they grew the business to where it is today. You’ll also hear Jenny’s philosophy on how she approaches hiring talent at JetBlack, a personal shopping service she co founded after leaving Rent the Runway, which is not only critical when you’re starting a business, but also when scaling it.  The interviewer for this episode is Scott Harris, a coach, mentor and a speaker at many of Tony’s events, including his business event, Business Mastery.

Upholder, Questioner, Obliger or Rebel? | Happiness expert Gretchen Rubin talks about The 4 Tendencies

January 31, 2018

We all want to have healthy habits. Whether that means eating right, working efficiently, exercising or taking care of yourself emotionally - healthy habits help us lead happier lives. But how do you adopt healthy habits? How do you step out of the struggle and make them part of your DNA? After all - we’re all wired completely differently and respond to inner and outer expectations in our own ways. So what is the solution that will work for you? In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, our host, Ana Yoerg, sits down with best-selling author and happiness expert, Gretchen Rubin. Gretchen has written four New York Times best-selling books, including: The Four Tendencies, Better than Before, Happier at Home and The Happiness Project. Her books have sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. She hosts an award-winning podcast, “Happier with Gretchen Rubin,” where she discusses happiness and forming good habits with her sister, Elizabeth Craft. And she is widely regarded as the foremost authority when it comes to habits, human nature and happiness. Gretchen maintains that people fall under 1 of 4 behavioral tendencies - the upholder, the obliger, the questioner or the rebel. It’s about how we respond to both inner and outer expectations. Do you embrace the rules? Do you resist? What compels you? What frustrates you? Understanding your tendency towards expectations can help you manage your life in a more insightful, productive way. And in this episode, she distills complex psychological tendencies into habit-forming strategies that really work for the individual. So you can make better decisions, meet deadlines, engage more effectively, and even find a better way of understanding other people’s perspectives – allowing you to find more effective ways of communicating, connecting and finding happiness.

The insatiable fight inside UFC’s Dana White | How one man’s passion and vision led the UFC to the ultimate comeback

March 06, 2019

In this episode of the Tony Robbins Podcast, we are bringing you to Business Mastery – where Tony interviews the business leaders behind some of today’s fastest growing companies. You’re going to have a front-row seat as Tony sits down with Dana White – the current president of The Ultimate Fighting Championship, or UFC, and the man that took the once-fledgling organization from near bankruptcy to a globally popular multi-BILLION dollar enterprise. Outspoken, charismatic and unabashedly unapologetic, it’s fair to say that there are not many leaders of major sporting organizations quite like Dana White. Coming from humble beginnings in the Northeast, his fight to the top was an unlikely one – and nothing short of a roller coaster ride. Dana talks to Tony about the serendipitous mix of events that catapulted him from the bottom, all the way to the top of the UFC – and the risky decisions he made along the way that led the UFC to its ultimate comeback. Like the decision to embrace regulation instead of run from it, to move away from Pay-Per-View and broadcast fights on free TV, and perhaps the biggest decision of all, the one that changed the face of the sport – to allow female fighters into the organization. Dana has achieved success on a massive scale – he sold UFC for a whopping $4 billion back in 2017. But his fight isn’t over – and as he tells Tony in this special interview, he feels he hasn’t even scratched the surface of his total impact.

Tony’s Top 3 Biohacks | The cutting-edge technology Tony uses to stay in peak condition

July 26, 2017

In this episode, we’re delving into the next level recovery techniques that have rapidly been gaining popularity across the country: whole body cryotherapy, photobiomodulation, and dynamic sequential compression. These treatments aren’t just reserved for world-class athletes or celebrities anymore -- they’ve become a key component of many individuals’ everyday health and wellness routines. And it’s plain to see why: Cryotherapy has been linked to increased blood circulation, an enhanced immune system, decreased fatigue, accelerated injury recovery, improved sleep patterns and even an elevated sense of cognitive abilities.Photomodulation has proved incredibly effective at relieving inflammation and chronic pain. And Dynamic Sequential Compression is known to relieve muscle aches, boost circulation, prevent future injuries and reduce recovery time -- benefits that could propel anyone to the next level, which is why Tony Robbins himself has become such a raving fan. You will hear from Tony, who recently sat down with Mark Murdock, Managing Partner of CryoUSA, to discuss just why cryotherapy has become such an integral strategy for recovery, and what other cutting-edge technology is helping him stay in peak condition. Then we segue into an in depth interview between our host, Ana Yoerg, and Mark Murdock, where you will learn more about the treatments themselves and how you can start incorporating them into your life. Because it’s not just about pain management, it’s about health and wellness and taking your physicality to it’s optimal state.
