Historical Friction is a podcast about storytelling, pop culture, the past, and why we reenact it. Also sometimes bad wigs. Created by Alice Procter with Abigail Fine, Helen Victoria Murray and Sara Oberg Stradal
This episode is probably more representative of what this show is like - it's really fun and lighthearted but still takes a progressive approach. The hosts are historians so they're well-informed. It's a cool way to learn more about history through the lens films and their anachronisms. Once again, not pedantic at all, and inaccuracies do not hurt their enjoyment of the movies they review!
What did historians think about the Met Gala? Well, this episode about covers it. I really enjoyed this discussion about the Gilded age (not to be confused with Hollywood's golden age), ethics of borrowing historical objects, and FASHION. The panelists are all historians but they're also clever, progressive, and sassy. I'll be keeping an eye on this podcast.
